Biography

Prof. Suliman Al-Homidan joined KFUPM in 1996 as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Mathematics and Statistics. He served as a Chairman of the department from 2005 until 2010. He was then appointed as the Dean of the College of Sciences between 2010 – 2018. Being a prominent figure in the mathematical field, Prof. Suliman was invited to participate in various conferences as a guest speaker. His research interest focuses on Matrix Approximation, Numerical Linear Algebra, and Optimization. Moreover, he accomplished numerous publications both in journals and books. Prof. Al-Homidan is also a member of several editorial boards.

Prof. Suliman initiated the formation of Female Education at KFUPM, as the University has exclusively catered to male students for the past 55 years. He served as the first Supervisor of Female Education from 2018 to 2020. Since 2020, Prof. Suliman has been assigned as the Dean of the College of Graduate and Interdisciplinary Studies (CGIS). Throughout this time, CGIS has witnessed thoughtful advancement and growth. One of the most significant turning points is the Cohort Master Programs, where KFUPM launched around 40 master programs in exciting disciplines aligned with the global trends and job market.
